That client who wanted me to rewrite a 50 page report because of one typo on page 3
I had this client last year, some small marketing firm in Austin, and I did a huge content audit for them. Took me like 3 weeks to go through all their blog posts and site pages. I turned in the report on a Friday afternoon, felt good about it. Then Monday morning I get an email saying the whole thing is 'unusable' because I wrote 'recieve' instead of 'receive' on page 3 of the appendix. I offered to just fix that one word, but they insisted I redo the entire document from scratch because 'trust was broken.' I said no, we had a contract that covered minor corrections, and I stood my ground. After a few back and forths they backed down, but the whole thing cost me a whole day of stress and they never hired me again. Has anyone else run into clients getting hung up on a tiny mistake like that?

Heard a buddy went through the same thing with a client that made him redo a logo over the font being slightly off.

Wow, isn't that always the way with people who don't actually know what they want. They latch onto one tiny detail and blow it up like it's the whole project. It's the same thing everywhere, not just design work - folks get so hung up on a small thing that they miss the bigger picture entirely.

My friend spent weeks tweaking a shade of blue nobody else even noticed.
