The client who kept asking for 'one more tiny revision' on a logo for 6 months

I finally added up all the hours I spent on that logo project in Houston. It was 47 hours for what I quoted as a 5 hour job. That's when I realized I needed a hard limit on revisions written into every contract.

Honestly, that 47 hours for a 5 hour job is brutal. I had a client in Austin who wanted me to change the font size on their business card 12 times over 4 months. Each time it was like "just a little bigger" or "maybe a tiny bit smaller" and I felt like I was losing my mind. It's crazy how some people think "one more tiny revision" means they own your whole schedule. Now I put a hard stop at 3 revisions in every contract and it saves my sanity.

Read an article about how some designers are now charging per revision round instead of offering unlimited changes. Seemed harsh at first but after dealing with people who treat "tiny adjustments" like an open-ended buffet, it makes perfect sense. Three revisions max and then additional fees after that feels like the only way to keep your schedule from getting eaten alive.

Used to think clients just needed patience, but that six month logo changed my mind entirely.
