The client who quoted my own words back at me in a meeting
Sat in on a kickoff call for a website project in Tulsa last week, and the client literally pulled up an old email where I'd mentioned a 2-week timeline for something minor. They used it to argue the whole project should be done in 12 days, ignoring the scope we'd doubled since then. I get that people hold onto written stuff, but when did a casual note become a binding contract in their minds? Has anyone else had their own words weaponized like that, and how do you shut it down without sounding defensive?

Tulsa's a small town, so that client probably still emails your boss about parking spots.
