Vent: client fired me over email at 5:47pm on a Friday in Denver
I had been doing social media for a small bakery in Denver for about 7 months, posting 3 times a week and running their paid ads. Last Friday at 5:47pm the owner sent a one sentence email saying they were going in a different direction, no warning, no call, nothing. I still had a scheduled post go live the next morning because I forgot to pause the scheduler, and she texted me at 8am asking why I was still posting. Has anyone else been let go like this, and did you send a final invoice or just walk away?
Send the final invoice for the work you already did, because a one line email doesn't erase the hours you put in. I got dropped the same way by a shop owner years back, and I just billed my last two weeks plus the ad spend I was owed, then stopped touching their accounts. She needs to pay what she owes, and after that you can walk away clean and not look back.
