Wasted $1,200 on a redesign that went completely ignored
Had a client last month who paid me $1,200 for a full homepage redesign with new branding and copy. After I sent the final files she said it was perfect but then uploaded her old logo back and kept the original text anyway. Has anyone else had a client just throw your work in the trash like that?

Ugh that stings. I had a similar thing happen once where they basically just paid me to make a PDF they looked at once. Really frustrating when you put that much work into something and they just ignore it.

Did you try asking them directly why they went back to the old logo and text? In my experience, sometimes clients just get cold feet (it's a big change for them) and need a little hand holding to feel secure. I started adding a simple before/after comparison in my final delivery, showing exactly how their new design fixed problems the old one had, and it helped a ton with them actually using the work.
