Went to a networking coffee meetup and watched a client pitch get destroyed
I sat in on this casual Thursday meetup at a local roastery and one guy spent 10 minutes pitching his app to a potential client, but he kept dodging their budget questions until they walked away. It reminded me that vague answers about cost are what turn into nightmare invoices later. Has anyone else seen a deal go sideways just because nobody talked numbers upfront?

Oh man, that's brutal! Nothing kills a pitch faster than playing the "let's pretend money doesn't exist" game. I swear some folks treat budget questions like they're being asked to reveal their deepest secrets or something. If you can't say "here's what this costs" in the first five minutes, you're just asking for a walkout. Sounds like that guy learned the hard way that clients can smell vague from a mile away.
