Almost lost a $9,000 client because I forgot to CC their office manager on an email
Back in March I was wrapping up a rollout for a logistics company in Columbus and sent the final invoice straight to the owner, who never checks his inbox, so it sat there for 3 weeks while his office manager (the one who actually pays bills) had no idea it existed. I drove over there in person, apologized, and now I always ask up front who touches the money. Does anyone else write the payer's name into the contract at kickoff, or do you just learn this the hard way like I did?

Putting the payer's name right in the contract saved me twice now, worth doing.
