Lost a file during a Zoom call and somehow kept the contract

I was screensharing a proposal on Monday and accidentally deleted the whole PDF right as the client asked about pricing. My heart dropped but I just laughed and said "well that file is gone" and redrew the chart live on a whiteboard app. They actually liked seeing me figure it out in real time and signed the deal 5 minutes later. Has anyone else had a tech fail turn into a good thing like that?

Read a study once that said clients actually trust you more when they see you recover from a mistake. Sounds like you turned a bad moment into proof you can handle pressure on the fly. That whiteboard move was probably way more convincing than a static PDF anyway.

Pivoting to a whiteboard mid-meeting is a pro move because it shows you're thinking on your feet rather than reading off a script.

Is it really that deep though, it's just fixing a minor hiccup.
