My contractor's 3 word rant about my meeting notes

I met a kitchen remodel contractor named Sal in Phoenix last month, he said my client status updates were 'too soft and pretty.' He wanted just the hard numbers, no bullet points about 'progress milestones' or 'feelings on scope.' Has anyone trimmed their update format after a client or partner pushed back on it?
