The client who walked me through their spreadsheet changed my whole approach

I used to think detailed project tracking was just busywork until a client in Austin spent 20 minutes showing me how they used color-coded columns to flag delays. Now I actually ask clients for their own tracking methods instead of forcing mine. Has anyone else had a client teach you something that stuck?

Used to roll my eyes at color coding, now I do it.

Started out thinking it was just overcomplicating things, but now my whole filing system is a rainbow. It actually does make a difference, can't argue with that.

Wait am I the only one who actually finds color coding kind of calming now? I saw this article online saying it helps your brain sort info faster, and honestly I think there's something to that. @the_elizabeth I used to be the same way, totally rolled my eyes at people with their rainbow folders and highlighters. But then I tried it for a project and it actually helped me stay on track without getting overwhelmed. Now I lowkey love having a system even if it looks a little extra to outsiders. It just makes things feel less messy to me, idk.
