Told a client 'no' on a design revision and they actually thanked me
I usually just say yes to every little change clients ask for. Last month a small business owner in Cleveland kept wanting to make their logo bigger on the homepage. After the third round I flat out said no and explained it would hurt the layout. They paused for a second and then agreed. I learned that sometimes pushing back builds more trust than saying yes. Has anyone else had a client respect you more for turning them down?

Wait, a client actually said thank you for saying no?

Eh, I see it differently. Clients are just used to people saying yes to everything, so a polite no stands out. It's less about gratitude and more about them being relieved you didn't waste their time.
