Used to think weekly check-ins were a waste of time but one project in Denver changed my mind
I had a client last fall where I only emailed them once every two weeks. They ended up not liking the final direction and I had to redo three weeks of work. After that I tried a 15 minute video call every Monday morning. Just quick updates and asking if they had any concerns. It saved me from a huge rewrite on a project in Denver and now I do it for all my clients. Has anyone else found a specific check-in style that actually works?

Oh man, your Denver story is almost exactly what happened to me with a client in Austin last year. I was doing bi-weekly email updates and they let me run with a design direction for over a month before saying it wasn't what they wanted. That was brutal. Now I do a 10 minute phone call every Tuesday, nothing fancy, just a quick "here's what I did, does this match your vision?" It's been a total game changer for keeping everyone on the same page, in my experience.

Did you find that some clients push back on the weekly call thing? Like they think it's too much hand-holding or something? I've been debating trying that but worried it might annoy the ones who like to just check in once a month.
