Warning: stop sending invoices as PDF attachments only, it cost me $1,800 with a client in Phoenix
I used to just attach the PDF and hit send, then wonder why payments took forever. Last spring a client in Phoenix sat on a $1,800 invoice for 3 weeks because it landed in their spam folder and they never saw it. Now I paste the invoice number, amount due, and payment link right in the email body so they can pay in two clicks. Anyone else notice clients pay faster when you skip the attachment hassle?
That Phoenix mess sounds brutal, three weeks of waiting on money you already earned is rough. I had the same thing happen with a client in Tucson and now I put the amount and a pay link right in the body every time. Cuts out the "where do I pay" runaround and people just click, done.
