DAE find out it takes 5 no-replies to get a client to pay an $800 invoice
I was digging through my books last week and noticed my slowest payer last year took 5 follow up emails over 6 weeks before he finally sent the $800. I always thought one or two reminders was enough, but the stat on my own spreadsheet surprised me. How many times do you all follow up before you start charging a late fee?

Why stop at just a late fee? If the guy needs five emails over six weeks to send $800, that tells you exactly how he runs his whole business. I'd put him on a short leash fast: half up front on the next job, no exceptions. Then the late fee kicks in after the second reminder, not the fifth. You already know his pattern, so why keep letting him set the pace?
