Hot take: worst client day was actually last Tuesday in Austin

Had a client call me at 7am screaming about a deadline I never agreed to. Then another client sent 47 revision requests for a single logo. By 3pm I was sitting in my car eating stale crackers from a gas station. Anyone else have one of those days where you just want to fire everyone?

Oh man, that sounds rough. I read a study somewhere that said freelancers get like 60% of their stressful client calls before 9am, which is just ridiculous. Honestly, eating gas station crackers in your car is a whole mood though, I've been there with some sad vending machine snacks myself. Maybe next time just tell the client you're busy until noon and let them wait?

Wait, isn't that study from like 2018 though? I remember reading something similar but the numbers were way off from what I've actually experienced. Most of my worst client calls happen between 11pm and midnight, not before 9am. Like last Tuesday when that logo revision client hit me with 47 requests, they actually sent the first email at 11:47pm. I was already in bed with my phone on silent, but I checked it anyway because I'm an idiot. The stale crackers thing though, that hits close to home. I had a bag of pretzels from a vending machine that tasted like they were from the Clinton administration.

Call it a rough day but calling it the worst client day ever feels dramatic, @faithpatel. That sounds like a standard Tuesday in any freelance gig. I've had clients demand revisions at 2am and then accuse me of ghosting them by 7am. You ate stale crackers in your car? I ate a gas station hot dog that I'm pretty sure was from last week.
