The 6pm Friday call where a guy asked me to redo 3 weeks of work for free
I was sitting in my car in the Trader Joe's lot on a Friday around 6pm when my phone rang, and it was a guy I'd done a logo and site for about a month prior. He said his brother in law looked at it and thought the colors were "off brand" and could I redo the whole thing by Monday. I just sat there for a second and then told him I'd send over a change order with a number on it, and the number was $850 for the extra rounds. He got quiet and said he'd think about it, then called back Tuesday morning and said go ahead at full price. Turns out the brother in law was just mad he wasn't asked. I sent the change order before I touched anything, mostly so there was a paper trail. How do you all handle the out of nowhere redo request, do you quote it straight or ask them to walk you through exactly what changed?
