The 'just add a logo' client who wanted a rebrand for free

I had a client in Austin who paid for a simple flyer and then kept saying 'just add a logo' every week. After 6 months of free tweaks, they asked me to redesign their whole brand identity for the same $250. I finally sent a breakdown of every revision with time stamps and a quote for the actual work, then stopped replying until they paid. Has anyone else had to put a hard stop on scope creep like that, or do you just walk away?

My buddy had the same thing happen, he just sent the invoice and ghosted them.
