Wasted $300 on a 'premium' stock photo subscription and used maybe 3 images
I signed up for this high end stock photo site because a client said my mockups looked 'too generic'. Spent $300 on a yearly plan thinking I'd look like a pro. 6 months in and I've only downloaded like 3 images because the search is terrible and everything looks like awkward business handshakes. Has anyone else fallen for a tool that sounded good but just collected dust?

Three bucks a photo is a bargain if you only needed them for that one client presentation.

Go with the three bucks per photo logic for a sec, are you honestly saying you used all ten photos from that bundle or did half of them just sit there? I bought a 25 pack once for a project and ended up only using like four, felt like a total waste even if the per-photo math looked good on paper. Not trying to be difficult, just wondering if the pack model really saves you money when you factor in the unused ones sitting in your downloads folder. Seems like the subscription folks get you on the flip side with monthly charges even when you're not actively hunting for photos.

Wait, did you actually try a subscription service or just buy a pack? Honestly, I was in the same spot last month for a small business client. I bought a pack of 10 photos for like 30 bucks and it saved my skin. Ngl, getting a bundle felt way better than paying per photo because I ended up using extras for social media. Tbh, if you only need a few for one presentation, three bucks each is solid but the subscription adds up fast if you don't use it again. I'd say go with a pack unless you're planning more projects soon.
