I finally started reading the back page of my subcontractor deals after a $2,300 screw job in Mesa
I was at a jobsite in Mesa last month when a guy I sub for handed me a five page contract for a bathroom remodel. I signed it in the truck because we had worked together three times before and I trusted him. Two weeks later he held back $2,300 for a delay that happened because his tile guy no-showed, and the back page had a clause saying delays of any kind come out of my pay. Now I read every page out loud to myself before I sign anything, even with people I know. Has anyone pushed back on a delay clause like that and actually gotten it changed?
