I walked out of a $2,400 roofing contract because of one line about "time is of the essence"
Last month in Reno my neighbor Dana signed a roofing deal where the contractor tucked in a clause saying any delay past 30 days means she owes extra. I told her to push back and she didn't, and now she's paying $800 more because of two rain days. Everyone on here says just sign it and fight later but that line is exactly how they get you. Has anyone gotten a contractor to cross that clause out without walking away?
