My lease renewal changed 3 pages after they added a 'pet fee' section
Signed the same lease for 2 years at my place in Portland, then the new draft had a $250 non-refundable pet deposit plus a monthly 'care inspection' clause that lets them enter my unit to check the cat's litter box. I asked the property manager why and she literally said 'we had too many tenants hiding hamsters.' Has anyone else seen landlords sneak in animal rules on a renewal without raising rent?
