Non-compete clause in my cleaning contracts, am I crazy for keeping it?

I found out last month that only 3 states actually enforce non-competes for service workers like me, saw it on a legal advice blog for small business owners. My cleaning business uses a 2 year clause that stops clients from poaching my employees, but a lawyer friend in Chicago said it would never hold up in court anyway. Some folks say it's pointless to even include it since it scares off good hires, others swear it's the only thing stopping their best cleaner from walking with their client list. I'm leaning toward keeping it as a deterrent, but has anyone here actually tried to enforce one of these and won?

Question whether that clause is even worth the paper it's printed on. Honestly, most judges would laugh you out of small claims court over a cleaning contract, especially since only a few states actually back it up. Tbh, you're probably better off keeping your employees happy than holding onto a scare tactic that might just scare away the good ones.
