That time a subcontractor tried to bill me for work they never did
I was reviewing invoices in my truck outside a job in Eugene and spotted a charge for 80 hours of framing labor on a day I personally watched the crew leave at noon, so I called the guy and told him to resubmit with actual hours or I'd take it to arbitration per the payment clause in our contract.

Dang, did he try to bluff his way through or just go quiet when you called him out?

I read something about this whole thing on Twitter and apparently he tried to bluff at first but cracked pretty fast. The guy actually pulled up some random stats to back himself up but they were totally fake numbers. Once the other person pointed out the source was made up he just sat there quiet and awkward.

Oh man, did he at least try to save face with some wild excuse or just completely freeze up? I'm curious if he doubled down or just gave up on the spot.
