Why does nobody mention the auto-renew trap in service contracts
Ngl, I just got hit with a $200 charge from a software I used once 6 months ago because the fine print auto-renewed me without a warning. I had to call their support in Phoenix and argue for 20 minutes to get it refunded. Has anyone else fought one of these silent renewals and actually won?

Fought one of these with Adobe last year. They charged me $350 for a Creative Cloud subscription I forgot to cancel after a free trial. I got it refunded but it took three phone calls and a stern email to their billing department. The worst part is they didn't even send a reminder email that the trial was ending, just a receipt for the full year. It feels like these companies count on people being too busy to notice.

Tbh that's exactly how they get you. Same thing happened to me with a gym membership I signed up for online, they auto-renewed for a full year after a "free month" and I didn't notice until six months later. It took me three emails and a call to my bank to get it sorted, and the whole time I just felt stupid for not catching it sooner.
