Booked a $9 hostel in Medellin for a month thinking I'd save big, learned the real cost of cheap wifi
I grabbed a private room in Laureles for 30 nights at $9 a night in March, and the wifi died every afternoon around 2pm like clockwork, right when my calls with US clients started. I ended up burning $140 on coworking day passes plus taxi rides to get to the place, which ate most of what I saved on rent. How do you all actually check connection speed before you book, or do you just eat the cost and move after a week?

$9 a night in Laureles is not really a private room though, that's dorm pricing.
