Bought a 6 month coliving pass in Medellin, left after 3 weeks, lost $1,400
I thought I was being smart booking one of those coliving spots with a long term discount. The website photos looked great, pool, fast wifi, other nomads to hang with. Paid upfront because they offered like 30% off the monthly rate. Turned out the place was dead quiet, half the rooms empty, and the wifi in my room was garbage. I tested it at 4 Mbps during a video call and my client kept freezing on me. I moved to a cafe but that cost money and time. The manager said the fiber issue was in the building and they were working on it. I gave it two weeks but kept losing work hours, so I bailed. I asked about a partial refund for the unused months and they pointed to the no refund line in the contract. My fault for not reading it closer I guess. Anyone else get burned buying a big block of time at a coliving spot before trying it out first?
