Was the wifi problem something simple like a reboot, or did you have to get into the router settings? Idk, but that's a cool way to earn your breakfast. What kind of stuff do they usually have at the hostel breakfast spread? I'm curious if the staff just appreciated the help or if there's a regular group that eats together.

That Berlin hostel story hits home for me. I stayed at a place in Prague last year where the breakfast spread had these amazing apple strudels and the staff made fresh coffee every morning. I ended up sitting with a guy from Australia and we planned our whole day around exploring the old town together. The wifi fix was just a simple router reboot but the owner was so relieved he added me to their breakfast list for the rest of my stay. It really shows how these little moments become the best memories of a trip. Hostel breakfasts are definitely where the real magic happens.

And I get why @jennifer403 says that, because my friend once missed her train but the hostel breakfast saved her day. She was stuck in Berlin with no plans, so she hung out in the common area and ended up talking to a group over pancakes. They had this huge spread with local breads, jams, and even some hot options like scrambled eggs. She said it wasn't just the food, but how everyone shared travel tips and stories that made it special. That free meal turned into a full day of exploring with new friends. It really shows how hostel breakfasts are more about the people you meet than just eating.
