Had a week in Chiang Mai where absolutely nothing went wrong and it kinda freaked me out

Last month I spent 7 days in Chiang Mai and everything just worked. My coworking wifi never dropped. My coffee order was perfect every time. I even found a quiet spot to take a work call without searching. Usually I'm dealing with some disaster like a lost package or a bad bed. But that week was so smooth it felt suspicious. Has anyone else had a trip that was too good to be true?

Nah man, a smooth trip just means you planned well and got lucky for once.

Actually heard a podcast about this the other day... the guy was saying how luck plays a bigger part than people want to admit. You can plan everything down to the smallest detail but if the weather turns bad or a road gets closed, none of that matters. Planning helps but it's not a guarantee, you know? Sometimes the best trips are the ones where something goes wrong and you just roll with it.

Got a friend who planned this whole hiking trip down to the hour. Storm rolled in on day one, everything got flipped upside down. Ended up at some random diner and met a couple who let them crash at their cabin for free.
