Hit my 6 month mark in Medellin last Friday and my rent is $380
Last Friday I realized I've been in Medellin for exactly 6 months. I moved here in January after bouncing around hostels in Mexico for 3 months, and honestly I was close to giving up on the whole nomad thing. But I found a studio in Laureles for $380 a month, wifi that actually holds up on calls, and a little cafe two blocks away where the owner knows my order now. I work US hours so my mornings are free, and I've been using them to actually cook instead of eating out every meal, which cut my food spending from like $600 to $250. Last week I finished a client project at 6pm local time, walked to the park, and sat there watching people play soccer while my laptop stayed closed. That felt like the win I'd been chasing for a while. The one thing I still haven't figured out is the visa situation for staying past 6 months, so if anyone has done the digital nomad visa here I'd love to hear how it went.
