Lost my internet at a cafe in Chiang Mai while on a client call
Was sitting at my usual spot at Cafe Base in Chiang Mai, about 20 minutes into a Zoom call with a client in New York. Suddenly the WiFi dropped and I couldn't reconnect for nearly 45 minutes. Ended up tethering off my phone and burned through 2GB of data, but the call actually went fine after that. Anyone else have a go-to backup plan for when cafe WiFi dies?

Why is it that technology ALWAYS picks the WORST possible moment to fail? It's like the universe's way of testing your patience.

Honestly, this hits way too close to home. Ngl, I was trying to print a boarding pass for a flight once and my laptop decided to do a system update right then. Like, really? You had all week to be useless but you pick the 10 minutes before I need to leave? Tbh, I think technology has a sixth sense for our panic levels. It's like it feeds off our stress and uses it to power its own incompetence. But hey, at least we get a good story out of it, right?

Oh man, the flight thing is the absolute worst lol. I swear laptops and phones can smell the desperation on you, like they know you're on a tight schedule and they just have to flex their power at that exact moment. I think they get a kick out of watching us panic and scramble around the house like headless chickens. But you're totally right, at least it's a funny story to tell later, even if your blood pressure is still recovering from it.
