Met a guy in a Chiang Mai cafe who bragged about working 4 hours a month

I was sipping a $2 latte at a coworking spot in Chiang Mai last Tuesday when this dude sits down and starts telling me he only opens his laptop every 8 days. He said he automated everything with AI and made $8k a month, then asked if I wanted to buy his course for $200. Has anyone actually met someone who makes a real living off total automation like that, or is it all just a sales pitch?

Oh, I've definitely seen that play out before... My college buddy fell for a similar pitch at a Bali co-working space, paid $300 for a "set it and forget it" course, and ended up just losing the money. He spent six months trying to make it work but never got past the first $50 a month.

Oh, I've seen this so many times. The real money in these "automation" schemes is the $200 course, not the actual system. If he really had a foolproof way to make $8k a month working 4 hours, he wouldn't be sitting in a cafe selling it to strangers. He'd be on a beach somewhere. My advice? Save your money and focus on building something real, even if it takes longer. You can automate parts of a business once you have one, but no one starts with zero effort and makes real money. It's just a sales pitch dressed up as a lifestyle.

My uncle fell for the same thing selling "turnkey vending machine routes" five years ago and never made a dime back.
