My buddy told me to always book a week in a place before committing to a month. He was right.
I ignored him and locked in a month in Medellin based on a great Airbnb listing. The wifi was so bad I had to work from cafes for 3 weeks straight. Anyone else have a rule they follow before signing a long-term rental?

Totally agree with tessalane here. I used to think the same way until I got burned twice in a row. Now I won't sign anything longer than a week without seeing the place in person first.

Ugh, I used to think that was overkill. Your story totally changed my mind.

Tell me what part of the story hit you the hardest. Honestly, I'm curious what flips someone from seeing it as extra work to seeing it as totally needed. Was it a specific detail or just the whole outcome?

That 47% drop in customer complaints after they started the new system. I mean come on, that could just be a coincidence or a good quarter. People act like numbers tell the whole story but they never do. You could spend all that time and money and see zero change, then you're just stuck with more paperwork forever. Sometimes the old way works fine and you're just adding steps for no real payoff.
