Overheard a hostel owner in Medellin say something that stuck with me

Was grabbing coffee in El Poblado last month and this guy who runs a hostel was telling another nomad that he never books guests for more than 2 weeks because "long stays kill the vibe." I'd been planning to park myself in one city for 3 months to save on rent, but hearing that made me rethink. Does anyone else find that staying put somewhere too long makes you lazy with your routine, or is it just me? How long do you usually stay in one spot before you feel the need to bounce?
