Thought the 'digital nomad visa' for Croatia was just hype, but it's actually solid

I was super skeptical about the whole process, but after getting mine in about 3 weeks, I've been here in Split for two months with zero issues. The local bank account setup was weirdly easy compared to other places I've tried. Anyone else had a surprisingly smooth experience with a specific country's nomad setup?

Yeah, the local bank part is the real win. That's usually the biggest headache in these setups.

Ugh, seriously. I mean, just getting them to understand what you even need is a fight. I spent weeks going back and forth with mine over a simple wire form. They kept asking for a wet signature on paper for everything, like it's 1995. The whole process just kills your momentum.

Totally. I read a whole article about how local banks are the main reason these projects get stuck. They have these old rules that don't fit how fast we need to move now. The writer said it's not even about being careful, it's just a lack of modern systems. It makes you waste time on paperwork instead of actually building something.

Adam is spot on about the bank thing. That was the part I was most worried about, and it honestly went way smoother than I expected. I walked into a small branch near the market with my paperwork all printed out, had a translator app ready just in case, and the teller just nodded and processed it in like 20 minutes. No follow-up emails, no calling back, just done. I think having the visa approval already in hand helped a lot, because they could see it was official.
