My garage workbench collapsed during a group build session, hilarious disaster
I was hosting a little DIY meetup in my garage last Saturday, maybe 5 of us working on some simple shelving projects. Halfway through, my main workbench just gave out with a loud crack, sending a circular saw and a bunch of 2x4s crashing to the floor. Turns out, I had built that bench three years ago with cheap particle board and wimpy screws, never thinking it'd hold more than a coffee cup. Everyone froze for a second, then we all laughed our butts off, and one guy said, "Well, there's your next project." We spent the rest of the afternoon rebuilding it together with real plywood and proper lag bolts, which was honestly way more fun than the original plan. Has anyone else had a workspace fail in the middle of a project? I'm curious what stuff you've seen buckle or break.
