Finally figured out why my jig saw cuts drift left, and it was the dumbest thing
Back in March I was building a window bench for my sister's place in Boise and every cut kept drifting about 1/16 to the left, no matter how slow I went. I blamed the blade, then the saw, then myself, and burned through three cheap blades trying to fix it. Last week I was cleaning out the base and found a little burr on the shoe plate where I'd dropped the saw two winters ago. Filed it flat with a diamond stone I had for sharpening chisels, maybe 30 seconds of work. Next four cuts were dead on, confirmed with my square. Has anyone else had a dropped tool quietly mess up your cuts for months before you caught it?

Man, dropped my router once and the base was off just enough to ruin every edge.
