I burned $180 on a used table saw that needed a $200 part, still sore about it
Found a Craftsman table saw on a local listing for $180 about 6 months ago and thought I got a steal. Got it home to my garage here in Lansing and the blade raise mechanism was stripped, plus the motor had a weird rattle at startup. The replacement trunnion and motor brushes ran me almost $200 and a full weekend of cussing. Should have run it under power and checked the arbor play before handing over cash, not after. Anyone got a good checklist for what to test on a used saw before you buy?
