Just realized my whole deck project nearly failed because of one cheap tool
I was building a deck for my neighbor in Cincinnati, and the $25 drill I bought for the job gave out halfway through. The chuck just stopped gripping, and I lost a full afternoon trying to fix it before I had to go buy a proper one. Anyone else had a project stall because a tool just wasn't up to the job?

Man, that's the worst. It's like the universe's law of cheap stuff. You buy the bargain bin version to save a few bucks, and it always quits at the worst time. I see it everywhere, not just tools. A cheap zipper breaks on your only winter coat. A store-brand trash bag splits open. You end up spending more time and money than if you just got the decent thing first.

But sometimes the cheap thing lasts just fine. Feels like we only remember the times it breaks.

@kevin_williams You're not wrong, but that cheap win is a total gamble.
