My cheap torque wrench vs my snapped bolt, who's wrong?
I bought a $35 torque wrench from Harbor Freight last month and snapped a 3/8 bolt on my deck frame, then my buddy swore his $200 Snap-On would have been fine. He said the cheap ones are fine for light work but sketchy past 40 ft-lbs, and honestly my reads were all over the place. Any of you run budget torque tools on structural builds, or is this a case where you get what you pay for?

Snap on’s overpriced, but 35 bucks means you got what you paid for.
