PVC bench bowed after a month, now I trust metal framing
Built a simple outdoor bench with 2 inch PVC pipe for a patio project back in June, thought it would save some cash. After about 4 weeks in the Texas heat it sagged bad in the middle, clearly couldn't hold my 220 lbs. Swapped the frame to galvanized steel tubing from a local metal supply place, cost me $38 extra but it's solid as a rock now. Has anyone else had PVC surprise them like this, or do you just skip it for load bearing stuff?
