The guy at Home Depot who laughed at my Kreg jig setup still haunts me 8 months later

He saw me struggling to square up a cabinet frame and said 'you're overcomplicating it with all that plastic garbage' then showed me his method with just a speed square and clamps, so now I'm stuck wondering if expensive jigs are actually shortcuts or just crutches, has anyone else had a random stranger's two cents totally mess with your whole approach?

Nah bro, that's rough. HD owes me for a whole weekend project that went sideways once. Kreg jigs aren't cheap either, 40 bucks is real money for a tool like that. Hope you get it back soon, that's just bad form on their part. Honestly makes me think twice about buying tools there.

You ever just take the speed square and clamps out back and try his method on some scrap? Turns out both ways work, just depends if you want to move fast or move precise.
