The level layout that got roasted on Reddit actually saved my build

I posted my workshop workbench build on a carpentry subreddit last spring and someone tore into my layout for the miter saw station. They said my dust collection drawer placement was backwards and the whole angled fence idea was overcomplicated. Got defensive at first but then spent an afternoon reworking it to their suggestion, putting the fence flush and moving the drawer to the back. Honestly it made the saw easier to use and I stopped kicking sawdust piles every time I reached for a speed square. Cost me about 30 bucks in extra plywood and a weekend but the bench works way better now. Anyone else had online criticism that turned out to be right once you actually tried it?
