Tried building a shed with OSB instead of plywood after a guy at Home Depot said it was the same thing
I built a 8x10 shed last spring using OSB for the walls and roof decking, and by fall the edges were swelling up like a sponge after a few rainstorms. The savings of about $60 upfront is now gonna cost me triple to tear it all down and replace it. Anyone else make a cheap material switch that backfired hard or did I just get unlucky with the weather?

Feel your pain man, that's a rough lesson. OSB just cant handle moisture on edges unless it's sealed perfectly and even then it's a gamble. I did the same thing with particle board underlayment in a bathroom once and learned the hard way that cheap shortcuts just cost more in the end.

Oh man, been there. Perfectly sealed edges still swelled up on me in a shed.
