A recruiter in Chicago said my follow up email read like a hostage note, so I rewrote it that night
Last Tuesday I sent a follow up to a recruiter in Chicago after 6 days of silence, and she called to say the whole thing felt aggressive. She said my line about 'circling back one final time' sounded like a threat, not a nudge. I had used that template for 2 years and got maybe a 10 percent reply rate. So I cut it down to 3 sentences, dropped the fake deadline, and just asked one plain question about timing. She replied in 40 minutes and set up a call for Thursday. Now I want to know, does anyone here keep a separate follow up template for recruiters versus direct clients, or do you use the same one for both?
