Client in Denver replied ALL CAPS to my follow up template, and it was my fault
Last Tuesday I sent my usual 3 day follow up to a client in Denver, the one that starts with "Just checking in to see if you had a chance." She wrote back in all caps that she had already said yes twice and asked why I kept asking. My template had two spots where the name and the date got swapped because I copied an old one from a different client, so it said "just checking in" even after she already agreed to the $2,400 quote. I called her that afternoon, apologized once, and we had the project kicked off by Thursday. Now I read every follow up out loud before sending, which sounds silly but caught 2 more copy errors this month. Does anyone else keep a separate master file for replies that change tone once the client already said yes?
