...and honestly that's the part nobody talks about. The silent treatment from a cold email hits different when you've spent an hour personalizing the hook. I had one stretch last year where I sent 40 cold emails, heard back from exactly two people, and one of those was just to ask if I could "circle back in Q3." Meanwhile my buddy who works the same niche gets 3 replies a week because his cousin introduced him to one hiring manager who liked his stuff on LinkedIn. It's not even about being better at this, it's just luck and who you happen to know. I feel you on the spam folder thing too. We're all just screaming into the void with slightly different subject lines.

Three years of data and you didn't keep the one stat that matters, which is how many times you wanted to throw your laptop out the window after a cold email went ignored. Warm intros feel like cheating until you realize your network is just a bunch of people who also hate cold emailing. Honestly, the real winner is whoever invented the "just circling back" follow-up, that's where the magic happens. Cold email closes more deals for people who enjoy rejection, warm intros close more for people who enjoy lunch meetings. Either way, we all end up in the same spam folder eventually.
