Hot take: a guy in Austin told me to delete my call to action from every follow up email and my reply rate went from 4% to 19%
He said it at a coffee shop on South Congress, we were both waiting on our drinks. I had been sending pitch emails with a "book a call here" button on every single follow up. He asked why I was asking for the meeting twice. Said it makes you look desperate. So for 6 weeks I cut the button and just ended with a plain question like "does this sound like a fit?" 23 replies out of 120 sends. Before that I was getting maybe 5 replies per 120. I still put the link in the first email only. Curious if anyone here has tried this or if I just got lucky with a small sample.
