My old boss at the bar in Reno swore a 2 line follow up beats a long pitch email, and I finally tried it
He always wrote stuff like 'Hey, just checking in on the quote from Tuesday, still want it?' and nothing else. I thought it was lazy and too short to work, so I kept sending these 4 paragraph emails with bullet points and a calendar link. Last month I swapped in his style for 15 follow ups on a $600 logo job and got 4 replies in one day, way more than my normal 1 out of 15. Now I'm wondering if my real pitch emails should be just as short, or if the follow up only works because they already saw the long one first.
