Question about a follow-up email that actually got a reply after 6 months

I sent a pitch to a design studio in Austin last fall and just heard back last week. I think the key was keeping the follow-up super short and linking to a recent project they posted.

Yeah, linking to their recent work is the move. My buddy did something similar. He sent a cold email about a job, got nothing for months. Then he saw the company post about a new product launch. He sent one line saying "Congrats on the launch, the demo video looks great" with a link to that video. Got a reply the next day asking for his resume. It’s like you’re proving you’re still paying attention without being a nuisance.

Honestly that works because it shows you're not just spamming resumes. You're actually engaging with what they're doing right now. Makes you stand out from the hundred other generic emails they get.

Totally agree with what @knight.uma said about proving you're paying attention. Did something like that last year when I was looking around. Saw a company I liked had just put out a new blog post on a tech problem I knew how to fix. Sent a short note linking to it and added two quick thoughts on their approach. They replied way faster than any other cold email I'd sent. It just feels less like a blind ask and more like a real conversation starter.
