Showerthought: my no-reply follow-up email went from 6 lines of filler to 2 sentences and my reply rate jumped to about 40%
I used to open a follow-up with "just checking in" and a paragraph of fluff, then watched maybe 1 in 15 get an answer. Now the whole pitch email is one line of context and one clear ask, and 4 out of 10 came back last week, so what's the shortest opener you've gotten away with?

Man, I used to think the fluff made it feel more polite, but shorter clearly just gets more replies. I've had luck with a two word opener like "quick nudge" plus one line of context and the actual ask. Keeping it that tight feels weird at first, but the numbers don't lie.
